For many years now, ARMOR has placed technological and social innovation at the heart of its development. In 2008, the company therefore decided to exploit its know-how in the coating of thin layers on thin films to support energy transition.

Against this background, ASCA, the ARMOR Group subsidiary dedicated to OPV solutions, is launching from November 19 the first innovation competition based on OPV technology. Named the ASCA® Challenge 2020, the first staging of the competition will be dedicated to the IoT (Internet of Things).

This open-innovation competition is designed to support innovative ideas created by anyone involved in the IoT (students, start-ups and companies) and to give birth to novel solutions based on energy recovery for small systems using the ASCA® photovoltaic film.

An international competition for the wide variety of players in the IoT world

Students, start-ups, companies, inventors and designers have until December 31 to submit their most promising idea or project via the competition website. The winners will notably receive personalized support from our Design Department to develop their first functional prototype and will be advised by our partners, competition panel and personnel on how to tackle questions of a legal and marketing nature related to the development or creation of a company.

Three winners will be selected using five criteria

The international selection panel composed of professionals from the worlds of organic photovoltaics, design and the IoT will examine five criteria to select the three winners: the innovative nature of the solution, the perceived benefits, the potential market targeted by deployment of the solution, the financial viability of the project and its environmental and social impact.

Are you involved in the world of the IoT? Are you creative? Imagine the application that might revolutionize the world of tomorrow by exploiting the ASCA® organic photovoltaic film. Are you up to the challenge? Submit your idea now via the dedicated website:
